Back in the early days of our YouTube channel, we made note of a game known as Bubsy 3D: Furbitten World. The game starred its namesake character, Bubsy and lacked a large amount of depth. That being said, the character was far more than just a random mascot. A TV series was created for the furry, bobcat friend as well, but it didn’t go well.
After its failed attempt to go 3D in 1996, Bubsy fell into obscurity only remembered because of YouTubers making reviews on it. That is, until 2017 where Steam and PS4 users were treated to The Woolies Strike Back. Now, this fur-ball you love to hate (or not) is coming back once again.
The development of Bubsy: Paws on Fire! was passed onto Choice Provisions, the developers behind the Bit.Trip line of games. According to a blog post from developers, Paws on Fire! will be an auto-runner, similar to a majority of their other games.
Paws on Fire! is aiming to be a bit ambitious with a decent amount of promises that can bite them in rear, in the end. They promise it to be the biggest adventure the character has seen yet, four-player multiplayer with each character holding different abilities, one hundred levels spanning across three separate worlds, unique dialogue for each level, a brand new story, and more.
Bubsy: Paws on Fire! will be released sometime in the first quarter of 2019 and available for the PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
