Dead or Alive 6 is coming out soon, following its delay, and apparently, it will boast a free-to-play version. The Dead or Alive 6 director, Yohei Shimbori, who spoke with SilconEra and was asked about the version. First of all, he noted the mistake it was that the entry was listed on the Microsoft Store.
First of all, about the listing on the Microsoft Store, that was a mistake from the development team. We do have plans to make a free-to-play version, but we haven’t announced when it will be available.
Shimbori then continued promising this version would be out after launch and a basic idea of what to expect.
We can promise it will be out post-launch of the full game. We can’t talk about it yet since we don’t have concrete details about what will be included yet. But, it will be similar to what we had with Dead or Alive 5: Core Fighters.
This likely means, the free version of Dead or Alive 6 will feature only a small amount of characters and stages.
Dead or Alive 6 will be released on March 1, 2019, on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
