MoviePass Introduces New Plan and Threatens to Charge Former Subscribers if They Don’t Opt-Out

MoviePass has been on its last leg for the past few months. Last month, the team behind MoviePass attempted to charge people who had already canceled their subscription with a new membership that most had no idea they signed up for.

This new subscription announced recently will be effective on October 5 and will automatically charge you if you don’t act. They are working this way because they “really hope you begin enjoying your MoviePass subscription again”.

You have to opt-out before Thursday, October 4 at 9:00 PM ET. If you are to opt-out, you will be put in a status where you cannot sign up again for nine months. If you’re canceling your subscription again, odds are you don’t want to sign up again anyway. Obviously, MoviePass just doesn’t get that.
