Square Enix reponds to Tifa controversy

Tifa’s Breast Size “Restricted” by Square Enix Ethics Department

Final Fantasy VII Remake director,  Tetsuya Nomura, was recently interviewed by Famitsu (via Eurogamer). Nomura made a comment that the Square Enix ethics department told the developers to “restrict” Tifa’s breast. Tifa in the PS1 Final Fantasy VII has a very busty size.

Nomura states: ” It was necessary to restrict her chest”. Square Enix wanted to give her a modern athlete style while maintaining her iconic white tank top look. However, the ethics department pointed out that Tifa’s breast size needed to be restricted. Her breast couldn’t move unnaturally during action scenes, so they gave her a black sports bra.

The interview also notes the famous cross-dressing Honey Bee Inn mission will transition into the remake, but more “modern”. Whatever that means.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is set to release on March 3, 2020, for the PS4.
